Giving God TIME

Whats the most precious thing we can give God?

aside from ourselves, or perhaps in conjunction with it, I reckon it’s ‘time’.

I was in a meeting last night where we worshipped and then it just led into silence. And it felt so calm and still. I didn’t feel like I had to say anything, I didn’t feel awkward it was just so calming sitting in silence, before God.

And it made me think, that for most of us, the thing we lack most is time. Time to pray, to do the things we want to do, or to just ‘be’. So, to give some of the precious little time we do have to God, is special. more than special it’s one of the most important and valuable things we can do.

Very true. I find it hard not only to give time, but to be in that time too. So with 'quiet time' for example, it's easy to race through the allotted Bible bit whilst simultaneously compiling a shopping list. That's what is so appealing about your description of stillness before the Lord – and that I think, is real worship too.

A lovely calming post about being led into silence. 1 thought – can we give time to God? Or is it God who gives time to us? Time to do all that he requires us to do – including moments of doing nothing at all in his presence?

So true. More and more of my prayer consists of being silent like that before God and it feels so right.

We were just talking about this during prayer breakfast this morning. On a table of four, everyone of us admitted to struggling recently in giving God time. Our lives get crazy busy and we feel we have to keep on going to fit everything in. I, for one, need to learn to give God time as a priority – not once I have whizzed through everything else on my to do list for the day! It will remain a challenge for a while I am sure, but I know rest in God's presence needs to become a bigger part of my life. Interesting I should stumble across this post today ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks all ๐Ÿ™‚ and Hi Jo, welcome, havent seen you here before ๐Ÿ™‚ Funny how God works isn't it? I looked at your blog today having seen your comment and the scripture at the bottom of the latest post (Trust in the Lord…) is one that has been given to me very recently and is very apt right now. Love it when God works like that!!
